Welcome to the Queensland Branch of the Rolls-Royce Owners' Club of Australia website. The centenary of Rolls-Royce in 2004 saw an upsurge of interest in the marque and a demand for more information about these motor cars. Coupled to this was a realisation that many of these models were now very affordable. This has in turn created greater interest in Rolls-Royce ownership, and as a consequence an increase in the size of the Branch. A website is about communicating
with people, and in this respect the Management Committee has been especially
mindful of two different groups: Current members will have access to a range of pages dealing with forthcoming events as well as articles of technical and general interest. This will be a supplement to the material already available to members through the Branch magazine The Northern Spirit but with the added bonus of much more photographic material than is possible in the printed document. Those interested in purchasing a Rolls-Royce or Bentley motor car will hopefully find this website most informative, without repeating too much of the excellent material to be found on other websites. Information on past events will give you some idea as to the social and technical activities of the Branch; while some useful material on the different models will also be incorporated into the site. A well-known American marque once had as its slogan "ask the man who owns one". Sound advice, and particularly in the case of Rolls-Royce and Bentley where so much mythology surrounds the cars themselves. We hope that this website contributes to a greater understanding of these fine motor cars and an appreciation of their unique qualities.
