Membership Page

The Rolls-Royce Owners' Club of Australia was originally formed in Sydney in 1956. Today every State and Territory has a Branch, and overall membership exceeds one thousand members. Over 1200 Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars belong to the members of the Club.

The Queensland Branch was formed in 1969 and has grown to approximately 130 members with over 150 motor cars. The primary purposes of the Club are threefold:
a. to encourage ownership, maintenance and (where necessary) the restoration of those motor cars manufactured by the various Rolls-Royce and Bentley companies
b. to promote practical motoring, safety and courtesy on the road
c. to encourage social and community activities among the members

Membership

Membership of the Club includes people from all walks of life, who are united in a common interest of enjoying fine motor cars and the motoring and social activities that go with them. The categories of membership are:

a. Ordinary Member - a person owning or in possession of a Rolls-Royce or Bentley motor car
b. Associate Member - a person not owning such a motor car but interested in Rolls-Royce or Bentley ownership. (This is often a wise preliminary move before acquiring a car.)
c. Honorary Life Member - a person granted this status by the Federal Body in accordance with the Federal Constitution of the Club.
d. Partner Member - a spouse or partner of an Ordinary, Associate or Honorary Life Member
e. Junior Member - a person under 18 years of age , or full-time student under 25 years of age.

Publications

The Queensland newsletter, The Northern Spirit, is published monthly. It contains general and technical articles of interest to Branch members, items/cars for sale, as well information about past and upcoming events.

Members also receive a bi-monthly magazine Praeclarum , published by the Federal Council of the Club. This magazine is well respected throughout the motoring world for the quality of its articles and presentation.

Recently the Branch has re-established a library of technical and general motoring material at the Branch headquarters. A roster of members enables the library to open each Tuesday afternoon between 2 and 4 pm.
